Tournament Details - This tournament will be conducted in two sections, under 1000 and 1000+. If there are not enough players above 1000, we will combine the sections into one open section. We will be using McMahon pairings for this tournament to ensure that you get paired with opponents similar to your rating. There will be 3 rounds for the 1000+ and three double rounds for under 1000. This means under 1000 will play 6 rounds. The first round will start at 10 am and the tournament will end around 5 pm. The second round is at 1:00 pm while the final round is at 3:00. The winners of both sections will get free entries to our future tournaments where we will have huge prize funds! . The time control of this tournament will be 45 minutes with a 5 second delay or G45/d5 for 1000+ and G25/d5 for under 1000. This tournament will be USCF OTB rated!
Agenda of the Tournament - Since the tournament will start at 10 am, we ask all players to come around 9:45. Since the venue opens at 10, they will not let anyone in until 10:00 am. The first round will be followed by a lunch break and the second round will start at 1 pm. The final round will start at 3:00. We will have extra space outside for side blitz. There will be tables outside where you can play casual blitz or you can play quietly inside the playing venue.
Blitz Tournament - This will be conducted between the first and second rounds. It will roughly be from 11:45 to 12:30. It will be free and USCF rated. Time control is G3/+2. Prize: The winner gets a free entry to our future events, which will have a huge prize fund.
What You Should Bring? - Players should bring a chess set with boards and pieces and a chess clock. If you have a scorebook, please bring it, however, we will have scoresheets available onsite.
