Our next event is finally upon us! We are excited to announce our first event with a prize fund. This tournament will be USCF rated and will be on Saturday, April 5th, 2025. Location - Eastvale Public Library. Address: 7447 Scholar Way, Eastvale, CA 92880. If you turn left from the main gate, you should see the library. (Per library rules, food is not allowed inside. However, water is okay. There is a restroom in the library for your convenience).
Date/Time - April 5th, 2025. 11 am - 4:30 pm.
Entry Fee - Our entry fee for players rated under 1600 USCF will be $10. Players over 1600 can play for completely free and still be eligible for the full prize fund. All you need to have is a current(not expired) USCF membership and id since this will be a rated tournament. If not, no worries. You can register for one onsite. Just email us at eastvalechessclub@gmail.com beforehand.
Refunds/Cancellations - If you need to cancel, please let us know by 6pm on April 4th to get a full refund. Any later and we will not be able to give a full refund!
Tournament Details - This tournament will be conducted in three sections, under 1000, 1000-1599, and 1600+. If you want to play up a section, please email us and we will consider it based on your live USCF rating. Play up fee is an additional $5. We will be using standard pairings for this tournament. There will be 4 rounds in all the sections. The first round will start at 11 am and the tournament will end around 4:30 pm. The time control of this tournament will be 30 minutes with a 5 second delay for all sections! This tournament will be USCF OTB rated!
Prize Fund - Based on 30 entries. First place in all sections - $25, second place in all sections - $15, third place in all sections - $10. Prizes will be increased or decreased proportionally based on the number of entries.
Agenda of the Tournament - Tournament starts at 11 am with the first round. Do NOT be late as we are enforcing penalties for late and no shows. Round two will start immediately after round one. The lunch break will be between round two and three. Round three will start at 2:15 pm. The fourth and final round will start by 3:20 pm and the tournament will end at 4:30 pm. We will have extra space outside for side blitz. There will be tables outside where you can play casual blitz or you can play quietly inside the playing venue at the designated areas.
What You Should Bring? - Players should bring a chess set with boards and pieces and a chess clock. If you have a scorebook, please bring it, however, we will have scoresheets available onsite.
